Free Tunes for Your Next Project

By on March 24, 2010

You’ve got a project your working on (some video or podcast or something) and you need some cool music intro.  You’re tempted to scan through your MuthMath or Coldplay tracks AGAIN but then you remember this great little blog post you saw on PastorGear.com and recall that it mentioned a great new site that lets you find some fresh tracks that are also, incredibly, legal.  You quietly thank God for PastorGear.com.

Okay, well perhaps it won’t happen exactly like that but we still think you’ll be glad you heard of  Dig.ccmixter.org the next time you’re working on project.  This site lets you search all sorts of music that is free to use under a creative commons license.  You can even limit your searches to songs that allow commercial use.

As you might expect, some of the tracks are not that great.  What might surprise you, however, is that a lot of them are awesome.  We like L.O.R.D. 2010, for example, and could easily see that in a video of some sort.  Here’s a list of instrumental tracks that might be good.  They also have lists for stuff with vocals.  Also be sure to check out the party music section if you’re ready to get your party on!

You can check it all out here.
