Help for Losers

By on March 29, 2010

On any given day in America, 164,000 people lose their cell phones. That’s a lot and that doesn’t even include the folks that lose their keys or their wallets. When you look at it that, we’re a nation of losers. The good news is that the fine folks over at Phone Halo want to help.

Their solution is to put a “small halo device” in your wallet or on your key chain.  These devices talk to your phone via blue tooth. Then, if they get separated by a predetermined distance (the halo) they start alarming on both ends. If you still lose your phone. You can then use GPS tracking to try to locate it.

Check out this video for the full feature set.

In an odd twist of fate, Phone Halo is available only for Blackberry and Andriod phones at present.  An iPhone version is “coming soon.”

The product isn’t cheap but it’s certainly cheaper than buying a new smart phone.  You can order Phone Halo from their site at phonehalo.com.
