Mac Users, Your Free Kindle Has Arrived

By on March 18, 2010

Amazon may be facing some new pressure from Apple with the upcoming release of the iPad but they’re not giving up the fight without a battle.  Today, Amazon released the new Kindle for Mac software on their site.  This is significant even if you don’t own a physical Kindle because it allows you to read many free titles as well as enjoying all the free samples of books that are available through Amazon.

As mentioned here, the free samples are a huge deal that a lot of people overlook.  Even if you plan on being a hard copy of the book, it’s nice to be able to read a chapter or two before you buy it to confirm whether or not you’re really interested.

If you’re a mac user and you already own a Kindle (and some Kindle titles), this is going to be a great addition for you.  Now, you’ll be able to reference your entire library from you mac.

You can get all the info about the Kindle for Mac here.  (PC users, don’t forget that there’s Kindle for PC too.)
