Simplify Your Hardest Daily Decision…Lunch

By on March 17, 2010

Let’s face it, sometimes deciding where to go eat for lunch can be a huge time waster.  Here are two tools to help out.

Urban Spoon
This site has an extensive list of restaurants to choose from.  Where they really shine, however, is with their their mobile phone app. It’s sort of a glorious slot machine of lunch locations.  It’s great if you’re in the car and you’re still trying to decide where to go.   Here’s a working widget so you can get a feel for the thing.

You can use the locks to lock down certain catagories like how much moola you want to spend.  You can hit the UrbanSpoon site here.  The app is available for the iphone, the blackberry and the android.

Lunchwalla
Lunchwalla is much more of a service and it shines in the area of helping you to coordinate a lunch with several people.  You basically send them invites with a few lunch location choices and then they get to vote on where they’d like to eat.

Here’s a quick video tour.

This is a great option for organizing a meal together for a group of any size.  It will get a lot more powerful as more people join the service too.  (It hooks into facebook nicely already.)

Beyond the basic service, there are some pretty cool coupons available.  Also, Lunchwalla integrates with OpenTable so you can actually make a reservation if you were going to some place a little nicer than Taco Bell.

You can start your lunch adventure at http://lunchwalla.com

Enjoy your lunch!
