The folks over at USB Fever are now selling the USB Guitar Link.  According to the site, this unit all by itself will let you plug in your guitar and turn your PC or Mac computer into “a guitar amp and recording system”.  You can also plug in your headphones to jam away.  It also has “killer modeling amps and effects”.

We have no idea at all how well this works but for $40 bucks it might be worth a shot.
