It’s Like Facebook without Farmville

0 Comments 21 July 2010

There’s a lot of buzz building these days around a new social media site called Miio.  The makers of Miio are obviously trying to make the site something in between Facebook and Twitter.  It looks like they have the best of both of those worlds on their new site.  The interface is clean, minimalistic and quick.

When you post a status update, you can tag it, associate a category to it, and also decide who gets to see it.

I could see this really taking off but the question with any new social media site is whether or not they’ll get enough users to reach critical mass.  For now, it seems the site is populated mostly by early adopters.  Come to think of it, that might be a kind of cool feature for now.

Of course, it’s really hard to review the social site with no friends on there so I’ve set up an account for myself and you can befriend me there if you like.  My user name is tonym.
