Elastick Makes Mic Stands Cool

Even though HP announced they’re not going to make tablets (or PCs) anymore, Apple’s iPad is still selling at record rates.  In fact, vendors have a hard time keeping them in stock.  That means that there are a lot of iPads floating around out there and many of them are being used by worship leaders and other musicians.  One of the big issues for musicians that want to use their tablets for sheet music or charts is how to attach them safely to a stand.  Elastick is a unique Kickstarter project that tries to tackle that problem.

The Elastick is a simple microphone shaped object that attaches to any tablet with four elastic bands.  It’s a brilliant and elegant solution that makes any mic stand or clip a suitable iPad/tablet holder.

This great idea comes from the gifted New York designers, Gregory and Sung, who have designed many products for major companies.  This means that the likelihood of this product actually getting funded and produced is very good.

Of course, this could be used for any rectangular device so the possibilities are endless.  Here’s a quote from the site.

The Elastick will come with different colored strap packs for $25.95 each.  The basic unit will cost $49.95 each.  If, however, you become a kickstarter backer you can get the stand, straps, tip and cap by pledging just $40.
