Facebook Messenger for Windows 7 Leaked

By on January 6, 2012

According to ZDnet, the new desktop client version of Facebook Messenger for Windows 7 was leaked last week.  Facebook did something rather cool and decide to just go ahead and issue an official early release instead of trying to fight the leak.

The skinny of all that is that you can now download a copy here and start enjoying Messenger today.

What Is It?

Well, this app just allows you to follow and respond to your Facebook news feed without having a browser open all day.  It also allows you to reply to messages sent within Facebook.

If you’ve downloaded and installed the Facebook Messenger app for the iPhone, you know exactly how the desktop version works.

The app is set to auto-update as new builds are released by Facebook so installing it early shouldn’t hurt you.

Early Reports

As with any early release, your mileage may vary but preliminary reports about this app say that it’s very stable and fully functioning.
