Follow Political Trends with New Google Site

0 Comments 04 January 2012

The political races have been heating up for some time now and it’s only going to get more intense as November approaches.  Of course, every pastor needs to be aware of what’s going on politically and a new site from Google can help.

The Google Politics and Elections site is basically an extension of the Google news page but it’s designed to filter out everything other than news about the candidates for president themselves as well as general election and race news.

There are a lot of interactive features.  For instance, the chart above shows breakdown of search, new mentions, and YouTube video views for each of the candidates over specific time periods.  It’s pretty slick.

Beyond that, there are sections on specific issues and each individual candidate.

Today, under the results section, there’s a great interactive map of the Iowa caucus results.

You can check out the Google Politics and Elections site here.
