Dooid: It’s You But with Style
Dooid is a site that lets you create an online business card. Man, that sounds boring and really doesn’t do this site justice at all. Let’s start over. Dooid lets you create a cool online contact card which features every imaginable way to find you and your stuff on the internet and it does with some some serious style.
Setting up your basic dooid account is a breeze. Then, you can add all sorts of stuff to it.
- Profile: Obviously, you can add a picture of yourself as well as a brief bio. (Pro version allows video bios too.)
- Contact Info: You can add home phone, work phone, address, fax (remember those). Every contact field you’d ever need it available here.
- Web Services: You can link it to just about every imaginable web service. You know, thinks like twitter, facebook, youtube, blip.fm. On and on it goes.
- Hobbies and Interests: You can add any hobbies or interests you have and designate how interested you are in them so that they automatically rank.
STALKERS, THE ONES YOU WANT AND THE ONES YOU DON’T
We know that at this point you’re probably thinking this would all be great except for those stalkers you have following you. The court order makes them maintain a safe distance but what’s to stop them from grabbing all this info and using it to expose your true superhero identity to the world? Well, the good news is that Dooid lets you lock down anything you’d like to keep private. Then, you have a “guest password” that will open those areas up for folks that you do want to be able to stalk you. This makes this service truly useful. Think of it as a business card you can give everyone with the standard info in it but it also has a special set of extra information that only the people you choose can see. Awesome.
PRO VERSION
The professional version allows a lot of extra features. The biggest is the ability to attach a resume. That’s a great idea if you’re using the service to help you network as you look for a job.
EMAIL SIGNATURE
Another cool feature is that once you build your dooid, you can make a killer email signature for you. It will include your profile image as well as a link back to your dooid.
DETAILS
So, visit Dooid.com and set up your own stylish business card of tomorrow. Then, come back here and let us know what you think. Heck, you can even post your dooid url here to show off your handiwork if you like. (BTW, your dooid url will be http://dooid.com/yourusername so choose your user name wisely.)
Extra Credit: We’re not sure how to pronounce the name of the site. Any guesses out there? If so, use the audio comment feature and let us know what you think.
