iPads Everywhere
The video above has been making the rounds around the internet lately. It got me thinking about how churches could use iPads. I’ve already heard of a couple of churches that plan to use iPads as donation kiosks by pointing Safari to paypal or the like. Children’s check-in could be another use. Although printing from that iPad isn’t really an option yet. (HP recently promised the “full printing from the iPad” was on it’s way so perhaps that will change.)
The power of the iPad when combined with a web-base church management system is intriguing. You could put iPads everywhere and people could use them to sign up for events or groups. I could also envision volunteers using them to assist first-time visitors.
The biggest issue, of course, is how to secure them so that they don’t become “free gifts” for certain lucky folks.
What do you think? What are some ways you’d use an iPad at your church?

We use iPads at the welcome desk to help people find Sunday School or Small Groups that fit their needs. We also have our website at our fingertips to look up things on our website when we get questions like “What time is the yoga class?”. It’s been very helpful and my volunteers love it!
