Send Some Lines Old-School Style
Sometimes you just want to send an old fashioned letter to someone but the more digital things become the more of a drag that can be. Do you have the envelopes? Do you have the stamps? Is your handwriting legible?
When you want to send a physical letter in a hurry just turn to 1HrMail.com. As the name suggests, they will print your letter, put it in an addressed envelope, stamp it and get it in the mail within an hour. They will do all of this for 99 cents which isn’t that bad considering the cost of postage these days.
The web interface is pretty slick and easy to use too.
ADDRESS
First, you enter your return address and the address of the person to whom you’re sending the letter. Interestingly, you can also add a logo to your return address so this would be great for churches.
WRITE
Second, you write the letter. This section allows you enter the text and format it in every way you’d imagine. (I wish there was a handwriting font available though.) You can insert images too. Also, it allows you to create a signature using your mouse or trackpad. Nice.
ATTACH
Third, you can add attachments up to 5MB. This is another great feature. The service supports PDFs, Word docs, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. The attachments are printed in full color. (You can also send an attachment only letter.)
PRINT & SEND
Lastly, you decide what size paper and envelopes to use. Then, just send it. By the way, the company puts no advertising whatsoever on your letter. It’s just a letter from you.
Letters will go out within an hour if they are submitted by 4PM (PST). You can also mail internationally.
All in all, this is a pretty slick service and I believe it’s the only one of it’s kind.
You can check it out for yourself at 1HrMail.com.
