Share Some Love with ShoutWorthy

By on August 30, 2010

It’s Monday morning and you’re thinking about some folks in your church that really went the extra mile yesterday.  Why not acknowledge those great volunteers with a new service called ShoutWorthy.  The idea behind this cool site is that it lets you send “shout outs” recognizing people that have done, or are doing, great work.

This site is tightly integrated with Facebook and it’s a breeze to use.  You simply sign in using your Facebook account and start recommending your Facebook friends.  As you write your recommendations, they are posted on your wall, the wall of the person you’re recommeding and, optionally, on Twitter.

If you’ve used LinkedIn then you understand the whole recommendation concept.  This service, however, it much easier to use and it’s faster too.  Beyond that, LinkedIn tends to be about professional networks while Facebook tends to be more about just regular social interactions.

Since Twitter is involved in the process, your shout outs are limited to 140 characters which is probably a good thing.  It keeps everything short and sweet.

Of course, you could always just write something on someone’s wall but this is just a cool system to recognize someone in different way.  Plus, you get to add the Twitter component too.

So, why not think of a few people that deserve some recognition and give them a shout out right now?

You can hit ShoutWorthy here.
