Get Ready to Throw Away Your MacBook
Admit it. Since you got your iPad, your MacBook (or netbook or laptop or, shall we say, lapbook) hasn’t been getting quite the same amount of quality time with you. It’s not that you don’t appreciate what you once had with your lapbook but that was then and this is now. Times have changed and you find yourself reaching for your iPad more and more because it’s light, powerful and easy to use.
The truth is, however, that if you’re going to do any serious typing you put your beloved iPad away and lug out the trusty old lapbook. As wonderful as the iPad is, the typing experience is a bit of a joke. It’s only good for SMS/Twitter style writing.
Now, word of a new product, Jorno, has arrived and it looks like your lapbook is going to get even less usage. Jorno is a foldable, bluetooth keyboard that works with your iPad and iPhone.
Let’s break that down a bit…
First, it’s foldable. This keyboard is similar to what you would expect on a netbook when expanded. (The keys are 15% smaller than a full standard keyboard.) When folded, however, the entire thing is just a little bigger than a deck of playing cards. That means that it’s very portable which makes it a perfect traveling companion for your iPhone or iPad.
Second, it’s bluetooth. This means that you don’t have to worry about wires and cables. In fact, the unit comes with a little dock to hold your iPhone or iPad in place while you type. (The site says that it can hold both the iPhone and the iPad in either landscape or portrait mode.)
Sadly, this great accessory won’t be available until early 2011 so don’t throw anyway your MacBook just yet. However, it might be time to start gently breaking the news to your lapbook that it’s over and that it’s time to move on with your lives.
You can find out all the details and pre-order your jornofor $79 here.

Closer and closer to replacing my wife’s PC laptop. Thanks for the heads up. Still one of my favorite sites.
I am willing to adopt any Macbooks that are looking for a new home. I know aren’t I the nicest guy ever.
If you do throw them away, toss them in my direction. My 2005 Thinkpad is getting a little old. :)
You guys are cracking me up. What servants! :)

i don’t have an ipad, but would be interested to hear if you think it would be hard to manage your ipad without a laptop to sync to.
