Need a Lift?
The statistics are staggering.
- 80% of pastors feel unqualified and discouraged in their role as a pastor
- 50% of pastors are so discouraged that they would leave the ministry if they could, but have no other way of making a living.
- 70% of pastors constantly fight depression
- 80% of seminary and Bible school graduates who enter the ministry will leave the ministry within the first 5 years.
It’s clear that something must be done to help pastors. Thankfully, the Willow Creek Association is offering some great new tools to help.
The Lift Project is a unique blend of online training, coaching and community to help pastors navigate the issues that they face today.
Specifics:
- 7 week courses
- Less than 2 hours per week
- Guided by a facilitator
- Interaction with a cohort of leaders
- Year-long Leading for Transformation Certificate
The list of names associated with these courses is impressive to say the least. This looks like an ongoing conference with continuing coaching and small group community added to the mix. There are several seven week courses to choose from.
This could be a real lifesaver for many pastors.
You can take a sample course here or get all the details at Willowcreek.com/lift/

Can you post the sources for the stats you list in the first paragraph? I’m particularly interested in the source for the stat that said, “80% of seminary and Bible school graduates who enter the ministry will leave the ministry within the first 5 years.” I’m writing a book on staff ministry and so am really interested.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi Jim, we got these stats from the Willow Creek Association site. You might want to check with them.
Having 2 types of crashes:1. When I try to use any kind of “back” fuiotnkn to go back to a previous page with a certain sorted-function (for example I sort view of a list to show a certain order, click on something in the list that takes me somewhere else, when I try to get back to the list, I get error message saying something about lost of data, leaving me to square one later and I have to redo the whole sorting list process).Issue 2: At time to time, a bit too often, while browsing places where I need to fill forms och click on suchs, Chrome tends to freeze and I cant click anywhere in the page, or at least I cant click on any link from that specifik page, not untill I re-enter the page after cleansed cookies….in most cases I just choose another browser and it goes faster and I dont need to junk cookies unecesserelly. So even if most stuff works, bad when that (above) doesnt work…:(
