Four New Ways to Find New Music on Spotify
In case you haven’t heard, Spotify has been exploding lately. Well, actually, it’s been exploding for a long time but it has been super exploding lately. (I’m not sure that’s the best way to say that but you know what I mean.)
Anyway, everyone seems to be enjoying all the free music but finding new music or new artists that you might like has been difficult until now.
Recently, Spotify added an apps finder section to their app. With that, you can now browse and install all sorts of great apps.
Four Great Spotify Apps to Find New Music
1. Last.fm
Last.fm certainly isn’t new. It’s been around for a while but this integration with Spotify takes it up several notches. With this addition, Spotify firmly and completely blows Pandora out of the water because they have finally overcome the problem of finding new music and artists.
2. Rolling Stone Recommends
This is a bit of a curated resource. Let the music professionals and critics at Rolling Stone point you to some new music.
3. MoodAgent
This one is brilliant. It just suggests playlists based upon your mood.
How are you feeling? Sensual? Happy? Angry? Well, there’s a playlist for that.
4. Soundrop
I’ve saved the best for last because this one is great. It allows you to join “listening rooms” where people can suggest additional tracks or playlists. This allows a spontaneous community of lovers certain styles of music to form. Once inside the listening room, you can vote for upcoming tracks and see what others are saying about the current track.
What’s even better is that you can create your own listening room based on any of your Spotify playlists and invite your friends to listen (and comment) with you.
All these apps are available from the Spotify app finder. (Sorry but it’s impossible to link to them at this time.) You may have to download and install the latest version of Spotify to see the app finder in your list of options within Spotify.
Enjoy the new music.
