A USB Flash Drive That’s Harder to Lose
USB flash drives are great but as they have gotten smaller over the years they’ve also become much, much easier to lose. The folks at LaCie have a solution for that. They’ve created a flash drive that’s slightly smaller than a key.
The LaCie PetiteKey is designed to go on your key ring so that it’s harder to lose. Obviously, some people lose their keys all the time but they are sort of forced to find them again so attaching the USB drive to the key ring is a smart move.
Of course, this isn’t the first USB drive designed to fit on a key ring but most drives of this type have still been too bulky in the past. With the PetiteKey, LaCie has given us a drive that’s truly small enough to comfortable fit on a key ring like…well…a key.
It’s even smaller than they’re already tiny IAMAKEY line of USB drives and that’s saying something.
Of course, LaCie brings a lot more to the table that just a small size and key-like shape with this drive. The drive is waterproof up to 100 meters! That means you can drop your keys (and your drive) in a puddle and don’t have to worry data loss.
The drive is not some flimsy plastic drive. It’s metal and scratch resistant.
Beyond all that, it supports LaCie’s Private-Public software which helps to keep your data safe with AES 256-bit encryption and password protection. This means that you can create a password-protected area on your thumb drive using their free software security suite.
It even comes with some free cloud storage.
