Help for Filling a Portable Baptistry

2 Comments 31 August 2010

Okay, I admit that this thing is a bit random but when we were portable and we used portable baptistries we were always having a hard time finding ways to fill them up with water.  We were never near a water source so we had to use hoses and it always seemed that we needed to get the water out of an indoor faucet instead of an outdoor spigot.  I think we would have been happy to have one of these bad boys.

It’s an indoor faucet connector for water hoses.  Not only does it allow you to connect a hose but you’d be able to get HOT water too and not just the cold water you normal get from a hose spigot.

Some of you are yawning right now but some of you are rejoicing.

You can order one here.

This would also be useful when filling a waterbed mattress. Because of the limitations tied to water heater tank capacities, we generally fill until the water starts running cold, then turn the hose off for the heater to recover before running it again. It may take several iterations. Of course, have the baptistry or waterbed heater running once you have water in either, so you don’t lose the heat you already have.
