As 2012 draws to a close, everyone is focused on 2013 and ringing in the new year right.  Thankfully, you don’t have to do it alone.  Whether you’re headed out for night on the town or watching the countdowns from the comfort of your sofa, here are two great apps to help you celebrate right.

Arguably the best place to be in the U.S. on New Year’s eve is Times Square.  (If you’re an introvert you might consider it the worst place to be but we won’t discuss that here.)  This app lets you enjoy all the fun of Times Square wherever you may be.

With it you can submit photos (that may be used on the vision screen in Times Square).  You can also send special ecards and, most importantly, watch the live stream of all the happenings in Times Square.

You can download this app for free here.

This app lets you enjoy the countdowns from various cities around the world.  The app is by EarthCam and they have exclusive feeds from scores of parties from around the globe.  You even get to hear the crowd noises as the countdowns begin.

This app is available for $3.99 from iTunes here.
